Thanks for the reply.  I haven't seen any of the original white ball handles.  I will look for them though.  I have had several people tell me to stay as original as possible.   I may heed that advice.  Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Why ruin a great car by putting that pistol grip shift handle on it?? There are 97 million or more (slight exaggeration?) 70's muscle cars running around with that funky shift handle.? Keep yours original and get that large white round ball with the transmission pattern on it that came with the car.? It's too nice and unusual a car to "customize."?
BTW, I took delivery of a '65 Sport Fury on November 21, 1964; it was a 2-dr h/t, "Medium Red Metallic" with the matching medium red vinyl interior and, of course, the 426S and a 4-speed.? A stunning car that gobbled up "Goats" (Pontiac GTO's to the unitiated).? Speaking of "gobbling up," I prefer that large round ball for speed shifting with the Hurst linkage -- I found it a darn sight easier to pull that tranny down from 1st to 2nd and from 3rd to 4th with just the middle fingers of my right hand, and to push it up from 2nd into 3rd with the just the heel of the palm of that hand, rather than holding on to that other gimmick (and that's all it is).?

If you want to attract attention at shows, you have a very nice car that is not run-of-the-mill and which I would try to keep as original as possible.? ?I just love taking my '57 300C ("typewriter" trans with 392 Hemi with "saddle bag" air cleaners on 2X4V carbs), my ram-inducted '60 Fury (not only cross ram engine, but swivel seats and "square" Aero steering wheel), and '65 fuel-injected Corvette drop-top (round shifter knob on its 4-speed) and watching spectators skip by the Road Runners and Chargers to climb over each other to look at any one of the three!? ? ?

   I have a 65 Sport Fury Convert with a 4-speed trans.  It currently has a Hurst T-handle shifter installed.  Is it possible to replace that with one of the pistol grips I like so much from the 70s muscle cars?  I am new to MOPAR cars so any education is appreciated.  Thanks.
