I've just been out to my workshop and fished through some of my spare parts , i have found a packet with Mopar pinion seal written on it with a seal in it  the number stamped on it is   w31921850 R6. it has to be for a 37-38 as that was what i had when i purchased those parts although looking through some of my parts books it shows the same part number up to at least 1954 for dodge plymouth and desoto.

Turns out that your "mainshaft rear bearing oil seal assembly", part 600420 is also used on my 1933 PD. My cross reference for that is National 5737. See:

jim ive got that number but the parts house cant cross that number. i was hoping sombody had one out and there was a number on the seal. also need the trans mainshaft rear bearing seal number. i just didnt want to take it apart untill i new i could get them locally. the part number i have for the trans seal is BCA/NATIONAL PART # 8160S but i believe that is 49 and up to 60 it might be the same. master parts number is 600420 but not sure if anyone can cross that number. that also may be the number on the seal when i get it out anyway. i just hate to spend 60 bucks plus shipping for somthing that is probably sitting on the shelf at napa for 6.00.

Master parts book shows "drive pinion bearing oil seal assembly" as part number 663602.  Fits 1937-1938-1939 all except 7-pass. and limousine; same for PT57 and PT81 (38 & 39) pickups.

where can i buy a rear pinion seal for my 38. i can buy the trans seal at carquest cause i ve got the number. if i had the pinion seal number i could probably buy that too. just hate to spend 30 bucks plus shipping for a 5.00 part. so i guess if someone has one out they could post the number. thanks. oh its a 38 business coupe

I can't help you at the moment, but we can both help the next guy.... I'd like to know your cross for the transmission seal and, when you find it, the cross for the rear pinion seal so I can add them to my on-line database at http://www.ply33.com/Parts/numeric

Thanks!
