Taillight configurations of 1950-52 Plymouth fastbacks

The 1951-52 Concord fastbacks have the wraparound style that you've seen.? The 1950 DeLuxe fastbacks have a taillight (unique to that year) that looks very similar to the sedans, but, as you've noticed, is somewhat smaller and flatter.? It is built differently than the sedans, too.? The sedan taillights (same for years 1950-52) have a separate bezel, gasket, lens, and housing.? The 1950 fastback taillight is a pre-assembled unit with a small clear plastic lens on one side of the housing to illuminate the inside of the trunk.? Hope this clarifies things!

Being a mopar fan with an eye for certain kinds of details, I'm sure someone can explain this for me.  I have seen certain taillights on 1950-52 Plymouth fastbacks that seem to wrap around the curvature of the rear fenders, while other taillights seem to be almost flat with very little curvature - a lot of people might never notice it, but I have - mopar taillights are very interesting to me anyway - i had a 54 New yorker wagon with little taillights down at the lower corners of the fenders that wrapped around a little bit, so I have a sort of habit of studying this kind of thing - I'm guessing the difference may be a trim level or possibly a model year difference - I'm sure that with the caliber and level of technical expertise that I've seen exhibited on these pages, someone can answer this to my satisfaction - thanks - bullet_nose_stude
