Lubri plate still makes and sells water pump grease.  You can get a reasonable facsimilie by using Marine lower uit grease, or boat trailer wheel bearing grease.  Both should be available at NAPA, Wally worls, or RV places.  Should be also available in the smaller cartridges.

The Ford repro outfits like Mac's in Buffalo  sell a cartridge of water pump grease, I use that.

I haven't seen water pump grease in these parts (north central IL) lately.

I have the remains of a can of Sunoco water pump grease; it was my grandfathers.

The contents look like brown butter.

I imagine that someone on this board will post a modern substitute.

Can I use regular grease on my 1941 P12 water pump. I know the manual said to use a special water type grease but do they still make that type?

Thanks
