I had to replace the headlight switch in my 40 Plymouth Coupe this past winter down in Florida.  I have a fuse that came out of the old switch.  It says one end 30A 32/  Then on the other end it says 307SFE.  Its an inch and 7/16 long.  Napa or any auto store should have it.  Hope this helps.

no matter what lenth it is it should have a spring , if yours is not there you could use a spring  ( i'm not sure what you call it in the U.S )  from a ball point pen (Biro) you might have to cut it down in length, it is only there to keep pressure on the fuse to make a good contact.

 :) HI  Napa should be able to fix you up with a glass 30amp fuse ... I pulled mine and its 1 1/4 I checked and determained there is a spring in there, so any where from 1/1/4 to 1 7/16 (as Bob mentioned ) shold work .. Just make sure yours has the spring on the part you take off other wise make sure its 1 7/16 .. Happy PLY-mouthing ...DANiel

My Plymouth manual says it is a 30amp fuse, 3/8 diameter and 1and 7/16 long

That is the only information that the manual has that I can see

Removed the dash from my '40 P10, took out the light switch and discovered a fuse holder and fuse.  Took out the fuse and was rubbing on the metal when it discentagrated..

Does someone have the perticulars for this fuse...?  It's about 1 1/2 inched long, different than today's style fuses.
