1940 Rear fenders differ from the 41 in that the 41 has three "speed lines" at the rear near the bottom. In addition there is a different application off the ridged line that comes off the top of the wheel opening. If I look I am sure I have one or two NOS 1940 Rear fenders. Thanks.

Here are a couple of scans that might help, I, Like Lindsay, believe that the fenders are the same except on the seven or eight passenger 1940 Plymouth,

Wagons, and commercial vehicals are different.
Coupes, and sedans should share the same fenders as long as they were not special order cars with 17 inch wheels and such (not much of a chance of that though.).
Actually, 41 fenders will bolt up, but obviously, the pattern on the fenders is quite different.
Anyone can correct me if my thoughts are wrong please.

I'm sure Lindsay will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the rear fenders are unique to the coupe and convertible only.  The sedans are different.  Lee

It is my understanding that the fenders are the same on the sedans and coupes, although I think the fenders on the eight passenger sedan rear fenders won't fit.

Hope this helps,
Bob

Bob do they have to be off of a coupe ? or will 2 - 4 door sedans fenders fit ?

The fenders for the 1940 Plymouth are only for that year.

ebay has fenders at different times.

Give Moore's Salvage yard in Rapid City,SD a call at 605-348-4926.  They have  a great selection of old Plymouth vehicless to get the necessary body parts off of.

I had the good fortune of visiting them in eight years ago.

Moore's also have a website, I'll email it to you.

Hope this helps,
Bob
