'41 Fuel Level Sending Unit Wire Cover

The picture is exactly what I was looking to find. Is there a second picture? Only one is posted. I really appreciate your efforts to help me make this piece for my car. Buddy actually emailed me this evening and offered to send the piece to me for a pattern. I think the pictures show enough to answer my question.

I would like to see the picture of the other end if there is one.

This picture shows where the wire goes from the trunk floor to the tail light area on the driver's side. You will note the small piece of formed metal that serves as a wire cover where it comes up over the edge of the trunk pan. There was also a remnant of a piece of metal cover that was screwed to the vertical part of the trunk pan that covered the wire from this corner back to the middle of the trunk. From there the wire went under the tabbed piece that is welded to the trunk floor. I am looking for details on the area shown in this picture and on the junction between the two covers (the one welded to the trunk floor and the one screwed to the side of the trunk floor. Any suggestions and additional pictures are appreciated.

Thanks for the picture. It provides another clue. I wonder if the tabbed piece ever went all the way to the trunk opening? I had a piece of similar metal that ran from near the trunk latch to the left tail light. There was a small piece of formed metal that shielded the wire where it went from the corner of the trunk flor over to the tail light.

Another picuture may help me explain better. I will see what I have and post again later.

Here is a photo of mine, as far as I can tell, once the wires leave the tabs by the sending unit cover, there was no extra protection other than the rubber trunk mat that would have been installed when the car was built. Hope this helps.

You could contact Buddy Romines, as he is working on a very solid coupe, he maybe be able to provide more information from his car

IF the cover is the same on the '41 as it is the '40, I will take a photo of mine. On mine there is a rasied area on the cover lip where the wire goes from the sending unit to the trunk floor area.

Does anyone have a picture of the metal cover that protects the fuel sending unit wire in the trunk? I am trying to figure out the transition between the piece that is welded to the trunk floor (It covers the wire from the sending unit to the trunk rail and is welded to the trunk floor) and the piece that screws on to the trunk rail and covers the wire from the center of the trunk floor to the left tail light. Mine was completely rusted away at the junction of these two pieces.
