After trying most of the day I finally found Buckeye Rubber, no website but I found them and ordered a set of running boards for my '37. Better price than the ad on Ebay. Turned out the Ebay ones are Buckeye boards marked up for profit, no problem with that but the seller did not say much about them and he did not give very good answers.

Thanks for the replies. Very helpful. The seller says they are 14 guage steel. I will also check on Buckeye Rubber Products. Where are they located in case I can not find a website?

I have not had any dealings with the fellow you mentioned, however, I have had dealings with Paul Bowling, Buckeye Rubber Products. Paul advertises in the POC Bulletin. We have purchased two sets of reproduction boards for '39 Plyms from Paul and can a test to the fact that they are first class.
For my money, it is not worth the effort to try and reclaim old rust bent boards, sending them half-way across the US and back, when new boards can be purchased for just a few bucks more....Bill

The price he is asking seems to be the going rate for remanufactured running boards.? At the last Hershey show there were a number of booths that would make running boards to your specs.? Basically aluminum with molded rubber.? ?

I looked at his ad and would have liked to see a picture of the reverse side of these running boards to determine how well the metal or aluminum under the rubber was constructed.

If you are able to get to a national show you should be able to find a number of people making these.? If the one in question is an exact reproduction then that?s another story.

My 2 cents for, what its worth and it probably isn?t worth the 2 cents.

There is a fellow, Mr.Mopar, offering new running boards on Ebay. I need a set but it is a lot of money for no more than he says about them. Here is a link:

He wrote me and said they are made in the US and carry a one year warranty on defects. He also said they are metal, not fiberglass and they are made to fit.

Anyone had any experience with him? What do you think of the running boards? Would you be afraid to buy them?
