Chris in Jax

the ones Roberts stocks did not fit my '37, so I drew a pattern with correct I.D. + bolt hole size & spacing,
went to local NAPA store and a very helpful counter lady took me upstairs where we went through the gaskets
1-by-1 until we found the right size.

And, I might add, Todd's website has been a wealth of information for many of us early Plymouths owners. I can't tell you how many times I've looked up information there.

Thanks Todd!

I use my local better auto supply for the gaskets between the block and the manifolds. My 1933 uses a different gasket between the intake and exhaust than later cars and I make that from high temperature gasket material. The gasket between the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe I also get from my local auto supply.

The trick is that unless you get an older counterman (counterperson?) with access to the older paper catalogs they might not be able to cross reference the numbers. For that reason I have been keeping track of the numbers off of anything that might be of interest for as long as I have owned my car. That is useful as I can ask for a CarQuest MS18005 manifold gasket set rather than the manifold gaskets for a 1933 Plymouth PD.

Looking for the best source for a New(er) gasket set for a '39-P-8 exhaust manifold??... and from the manifold to the Exhaust pipe. Is there a common place that most guys go to for these gaskets? In all the engine rebuilding etc. Is there possibly a good source to obtain these gaskets-? Thanks, dennis
