You may want to use a little anti-seize compound on the studs.

Dennis:

Do not use any gasket sealer of any type on either an intake or exhaust manifold or on the pipe to manifold joint. Buy good quality gaskets, install them as they come out of the box and torque the manifolds properly using the correct tightening sequence. If you have trouble finding a decent gasket set - Felpro is one of the best - try a forklift supply as many forklifts still in use have Chrysler industrial engines.

Thanks to Kroil and this forum..I was able to get the manifold nuts off without a problem. I got a NOS manifold from Roy Kidwell (Thanks Roy)..and I want to get it installed-When I was younger there was a product called Permatex (?) that went on some of these surfaces...so, Is there a tube of something that must be applied prior to mounting the manifold back to the block-?, for a better seal-?? also from the manifold to the header pipe??? any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks,Dennis
