For P-19 and P-20 (1950 models), the wiring diagram shows the #10 gauge red wire connecting to the A (armature) post of the generator and the #16 gauge green wire connecting to the F (field) post on the generator.

On the regulator side, the red #10 wire goes to the "A" terminal, the green #16 wire to the "F" terminal and the black #10 wire to the "B" terminal. By the way, the other end of the black wire goes to the ammeter.

Getting a service manual for your car is a very good thing to think about doing. Reprints are available of most manuals (I got this information from a reprint of the 1946-54 service manual).

Howdy I'm new to this forum. Also just bought a 1950 Plymouth 2 door club coupe. 3 speed standard with a flat head six.   This is a six volt system, I was wondering how to wire the generator up to the regulator. The gen has a red wire and a white wire, the regulator has 3 termiinals on it. What goes where? Any help with this would be greatly apprreciated. Also trying to locate master cylinder or kit to rebuild. Thanks Terry  e-mail
