Directional signals for 47 Plymouth

Thanks Chet for your info.? Hmm.? Well, I gues I'll just stick my hand out, up for right turn, straight out for left, and down for stop. I remember learning those signals back in 1951 when I turned 16 and got my drivers license.? Seriously, I really need a step by step detailed procedure, with appropriate parts, and with pictures if possible, to show exactly what I have to do.? ?Otherwise, it's all Greek to me.? ?Ed P.

I also took my drivers test using the hand signals.  They worked back then, but don't think the young people of today will know what you are doing.  They either don't care or they don't know.  Its your choice.  My directional lights are weak, so when there is heavy traffic, I also use the hand signals  Twice last summer with my 40 Pymouth I almost got hit when turning left by the younger people trying to pass on the roads.  Again they either don't know the signals or they just don't care.   Ping

as chet said, it is necessary to convert the sockets, but on a P15 you have the advantage of using both the centre stoplight and the tail lights for a "modern" 3 light system. 
I have installed many turn signal sets over the years but only once did I see and install dashboard directional arrows which flank the hich beam indicator of the P15. Fits exactly where the original bezel is. Slick!  I would be pleased to walk you through the installation if you contact me outside the forum via the POC technical director listing. (1950)    dp

In order to convert to Flashers and use the front and rear park lights you will need to run some additional wiring and convert your lamp sockets over to duel element bulbs.? This is not a big deal but if you are not familiar with doing wiring it might be a problem.?

I rewired my car and lamps and ran individual ground cables to each lamp socket to ensure nice bright lights.? Poor ground is the main reason for dim lights.?

I'd like to install directional signals on my 47 Plymouth. Is there a simple kit out there that I can buy?  I'm not very good at electrical stuff, so the instructions would have to be easy to follow.  I'd like to use the front parking lites and the rear tail lites.  Since the brake lite is separate on the trunk, I would think it shoudn't be too complicated.  Any suggestions?    Ed P.
