I have looked at the photos of your car several times, and the more
I look at it the better I like it.  I am not, generally, a fan of the two door
sedans, but yours is very nice.

I just finished looking at the photos of your Plymouth. It is a very solid looking car. I'm sure that there are POC members who started out with cars that looked a lot worse than yours.

Congratulations; it looks like a decent driver, as is, which is a big plus.

Here's some info on the car;

'50 2dr Sedan, originally painted gray (not sure if it was "Peru Gray" or "Gaynor Gray").? Original engine has been replaced by one from a '47 P15 code.? The car is in decent shape for a 'starter'...rust in the normal places (rockers, rear quarters, toe board, etc.) but easily fixable.

Interior is trashed & thrashed....Previous owner painted the car inside & out with black basecoat...no clear, and red wheels, so it has that disgusting 'rat rod' look.

I've been stockpiling NOS accessory parts for the car (Just got an electric gas cap, automatic battery filler, and MoPar script foglights), and am about to get started on the dirty work (disassembly and body work).? I hope to restore the car to factory condition, with the exception of the aforementioned NOS MoPar accessories.

This is my first real 'old car', aside from the 64 Chevy truck I drove 10 or so years ago in High School, so I'm taking it slow & trying to learn all I can (This is my first Plymouth too).

Welcome Gary....and thanks for the assist the other day on the trunk paint colors.   We don't have that one sorted out yet so keep your eye open to both steel gray painted trunks versus body color painted ones......   Would love to see some more pictures of your '50.

And welcome to the forum.? Congratulations on your recent purchase.? ?I also have a 48 Plymouth that I have been working on since 2004.? A great hobby and you have definitely found a place full of knowledgeable people that provide excellent tips and information.? ?The P15D24 forum is also an excellent place for the 46 to 50 crowd.? ?Another helpful forum filled with many POC members as well as enthusiastic non members.

I agree with Jim in that membership in the POC connects you with other Plymouth owners and affords you a great publication dedicated to the same.? ?Your decision, and no pressure, but I am certainly glad I joined this fine organization.

Good luck with your new old car,? Keep it running and drive it often.? I am a firm believer that cars in Museums are great to see but our old cars on the road are an unexpected joy for all that cross their paths.
