1940 Plymouth tools

My understanding is that the tool kit tools supplied with the Plymouth weren't marked with any DPCD or other Chrysler corporate logo.

Some of the tools would have been marked with the actual manufacturer's logo, such as a "V" in an outline, to identify the tool supplier as the "Vlchek" company.....these tools are otherwise unmarked, and the makers mark is small, just barely noticeable.

You can learn about the various tool manufacturing companies who made unmarked tools for car tool kits, and the tiny logo marks which identify the makers, on the internet. Do a search on "Alloy Artifacts" a web-site devoted to researching old tools and the firms which made them.

I don't have a '40 parts list, but if your tool kit would be the same as that listed for the '39 cars, it would have included a light ball peen hammer, a slip joint pliers, two screw drivers, one standard and one Phillips, a formed steel spark plug socket, and three 'flat wrenches', given as #23, #25, and #29. The numbers refer to industry standard wrench patterns. A jack, tire pump, tire wrench, etc., were also included.
