the lights kill my engine

elmo54 is right on.? Charge your battery.., if you still have the problem after the charge then you have a short like Mr. 36Ply.? If not then you have a charging problem.

I had a situation a while back, after visiting a friend's house (he lives about 10 miles from us).

It was a warm summer day, so we had the cowl vent open.

We left his house about dusk, so I shut the cowl vent, and turned on the headlights, but only the parking lights would come on. We made it home using the parking lights and a fog light.

I later discovered that the headlight wiring had gotten pinched by the cowl vent linkage when I closed it.

I don't think that this is your problem, but you might want to check the wires under your dash, and make sure that they're clear of your cowl vent linkage in the open and closed positions.

When I turn on the lights the engine wants to go dead. Shut off the light switch and the engine seems to run fine. Any help is appreciated. 48 plymouth. mike ???
