Body ID Tag on Firewall '41

Thanks to Lindsay McConnell, I now know there were at least two different "Body Number" tags used in 1941. Both my ASC coupe and Lindsay's ASC coupe have the red tag. I guess other bodies (built by Briggs) have a different tag. The photos show the two types.

I would still like to know if anyone has information about who actually built the bodies. Were some bodies built under contract by Briggs and some built by Chrysler Motors. That is what the tags would indicate.

Hi Mark,

Made my way down to photograph the fire walls of my Plymouths for you today only to find that my camera was not properly communicating with the memory card. I now think that I am back on track, and will re-try for you in the morning.
What I did notice is that my sedan, that was purchased new, by my Aunts in late 40 did not have the same tags as my ASC does.... I know, a picture is worth a thousand words but......
I'll give it heck in the morning.
I was lucky here in the N.E. and reached 60 degrees today. Was able to get all three cars, the two P-12's and the P-15 opera coupe to run for a spell, and add the fuel stabilizer.I think I still smell of old MoPar fumes from this morning! Gotta love it! ;D

The lack of response to my question makes me curious about the manufacture of Plymouth bodies. I have heard from a couple of people that their "Body Number Tags" for 1941 are rectangular and reads "Briggs MFG. CO. Detroit, Michigan" where my tag reads "Crysler Motors". These same tags had the lettering "BODY NUMBER" above the stamped seirial number. Did different companies make different bodies--even in the same year?

What is the history on the manufacturers that made Plymouth bodies?

I am posting a picture that might give a better idea of what I need. Anyone have a Body ID tag that is similar. Can you read the lettering (if any) where the arrow and ??? are?

What is the lettering on body ID tag that goes on the firewall just below the manufacturer's plate? Most of the paint is worn off mine. Below the stamped number it looks like it says "CYRSLER MOTORS". I cannot tell if there is any lettering above the stamped number. This tag is shaped like a rectangle except each end is a 1/2 circle shape. The body number is stamped in the middle and the letters are formed by the metal plate showing through a silkscreened red background.
