Here is a photo of my good friend's wiper knob in his 1940 P-10  Business coupe.
The coupe is in original condition, never been restored.
It is a beautiful sample of a 1940 Plymouth.
Hope this helps,
Bob

Darren - sorry I wasn't home when you called tonight.  Had to watch the girls volleyball team take the "old home town rivals" down to defeat 3 to 0 for district championships.  Anyway - the finned wiper know is absolutely, positively, 100% INCORRECT for the 1940 Plymouth.  And NO - the round knob is NOT a radio knob.  It is much bigger and deeper than the radio knobs, although the design is the same.  I have factory photos to prove it -- and two cars that are both original.

???    OK I have  another ? .........    This one really makes me wonder .......   On this site  (Under Judging guide )it clearly says for a 1940 Plymouth 4 door the wiper knob should be round!    On ebay and talking to people they say and I have seen wiper knobs on ebay that are sold that are indeed round ..  Then honestly I have talked to some that say  from 1940 to 1948 (?) that they are the fin type ! and the round go to wards u and the fin goes to the windshield............Well there a man that will reproduce the knobs I need and want for my car ,Head light  ,choke , throttle and claims his dad bought a new Plymouth in 1940  and has the molds to make them! he also claims that what people are putting on there 1940 Plymouth cars are nothing more than radio knobs! he claims the fin type  is correct . I have  both a round knob and a fin knob , but ask once again "WHAT IS CORRECT AND WHY DOES THE JUDGING GUIDE STATE  ROUND IS CORRECT?" And Is this man correct that the fin is the correct knob? Thanks again for your help . DANiel
