New Brake Hose vender for Early Plymouths and other makes

I purchased a brake hose from Andy two years ago.? It was a new hose and was correct.? I then ordered two more.? Those two were 10 years old and were not correct.? I called him and after much discussion, he agreed that the two hoses he sent me would not work, and he did not have anything else to offer me.? The copper sealing washer will not reach the bottom of the fitting.? He suggested I fabricate a spacer or modify the hoses.? I ended up fabricating a spacer.?

Buying from Andy is like a box of chocolates..., you never know what you are going to get.? Furthermore if you get the wrong part then their customer service division takes over and somehow it is your fault.? ?90% of the time things work out OK.

However, if I had to do it again, I would buy them from Classic and Exotic Parts, and get a new hose that fits properly.

Theses original type hoses are not available from regular parts stores.? I took one to a place that makes brake hoses for aircraft and cars, and they could not locate the type end.? As far as I know, in the USA, only Classic and Exotic Parts makes these original type brake hoses for the early Plymouths (28-31).  Theirs are good parts, and new, although expensive ($35 each)

However, now I see a shop in Brazil that makes them and is offering a set of 3 for $29 plus S&H.  I though this might be usefull info for someone, if they are in fact the correct hoses.?

Andy also has the correct hoses for the Lockheed brake system.? With the copper washer insert.

Why don't you just go down to your local (good) auto supply and buy them there. Before you take the new ones home check them against and old one that you bring into the store. If it is like my local store you might have to call ahead wait for their afternoon delivery from the warehouse, but they should be able to get them. Failing that, the off road specialty stores that do hydraulic hoses can make them up for you.

Either way you get fresh stock, not some unknown brand or old stock that has been sitting on a shelf forever.

A vendor from Brazil is on ebay selling new brake hoses for early Plymouths, as well as many other cars.? Has anyone tried them? Seller is listed as "luchonota".  He offes a set of three for $29 plus S&H.

In the picture, it looks like they do not have the copper sealing rings.? However, that might not be necesary, so long as they are shaped properly.

I cannot tell from the picture if the "reach" on the nose is long enough past the threads.? The hoses Bernbaum sells are too short there and thus do not seal properly without using a spacer of sorts.

However, the ones sold by Classic and Exotic Parts fit properly. They make original Lockheed Flexible Brake lines and connectors.?
