Good find!

It's possible that the wires were rubbing against one another and wore the insulation down to the point where they started shorting and heating up.

Problem solved. Under the dash there were some wires melted together causing a short and causing a thermal breaker to make and break. After separating and replacing the wires the lights went back to normal. What I don't know is what caused this to happen in the first place. Currents are normal on everything now so I'll have to keep watch.

Hello everyone. I am a new member here. I recently bought a 1961 Savoy with column shift. When I put it in reverse  there is a relay under the dash that clicks on and off  causing the back up lights to do the same. Looking at the wiring diagram I can't see what's causing this. Any ideas?
