Tulsa Tickets for Unveiling of the '57 Plymouth

There are still unveiling tickets available from Carson Attractions.

Just a reminder . . . please submit your applications for the open car show soon!

The Tulsarama committee has only received a few applications that have indicated they are with the Plymouth Owners Club.? The rest of the 200 cars participating in the outdoor show are from other car clubs.

You can download the application from www.BuriedCar.com.? The registration fee is $20 and includes admission for 2 into the invitational show.

The outdoor show will include a food court and auto-related vendors.

The site must have been experiencing trouble when you tried. I just tried at 7:50 PM Central time and it is working fine. Both prices of tickets are still available at this time.

I purchased tickets on the third day they were aval. I happened to be in Tulsa that day and tried to buy them on the internet, that did not work. The next morning I called down to the ticket office thinking I would buy them in person. The service charge is the same either way, but the girl at the convention center informed me that I should try it on the internet during the day because they shut down the ticketing computer when they go home. Insane? yes! but that's how they operate.
It should be noted that the convention center only seats 8,900 people on the upper and lower levels combined. So tickets will be in short supply. There are no assigned seating tickets aval. on either level, but the lower level seats include entry to the concourse car show held in the lower level of the convention center. First come first serve for seating on the unvailing.
The acctual removal of the car from the ground will have VERY limited viewing aval. They will extract the car and quickly put it into a inclosed trailer for transport to the convention center. If you figure the security and saftey fence, the truck and inclosed trailer, at least one backhoe, and maybe a small crane or boom truck in the way all in front of the small court house lawn, and thousands of people trying to get a look at what is happening, you will likley see nothing there.

I think the next-of-kin would get the car if the winner is not alive. I think they must already know who is getting the car, they have the most current data on population and they know they have to find the winner. I am looking forward to this once-in-a-lifetime event for a Plymouth fan. I am really glad they chose a Plymouth back in 1957, would be interesting to see why, probably something as simple as Chrysler Corp was the only company to offer it for free to Tulsa (guess on my part) - or it could have been something more. Too bad the image of Plymouth being a car for the masses did not continue to the present day.

I was able to get tickets via their Internet site.? However, I had to click "YES" about 30 times to get past their security.? I decided to get the $8.50 tickets as that also includes a pass to the Invitational Auto Show.? I also got ROW "O".? GO to their web site for more information, http://www.buriedcar.com/.? Back in 1957 people entered a drawing so that whoever guesses the population of Tulsa in 2007 will win the car.? I wonder how they will determine the winner?? Or even if this person is alive?? How do they find this person? This could be a big headache.

I got mine and they had seating Row "O" section whatever - seat numbers too - are you sure it is first come - I bought the $8.50 tickets.

Tried again this morning, and still got the same error. So I tried a different credit card, and it worked just fine... For some reason the system didn't like my Discover card.

Got my tickets now, I guess I'd better get my butt in gear and get my '50 ready for the 3,000+ miles... ;D

I got mine yesterday. Be aware that you are not reserving seats. According to the promoter, the seating is not assigned seating. The ticket sales are to make sure they don't overbook the arena. Apparently the floor seat ticket holders will get seats on the floor, but they will be first come first serve. Same with the upper level. Get your tickets, guys on Forwardlook say they are going fast!

I did it last night and it gave me seat numbers.? Make sure you put in the number of tickets you require.

Tickets are now available on-line for the unveiling of the '57 Plymouth in Tulsa on June 15.
The unveiling will take place at 6:30 that evening in the Tulsa Convention Center. Ticket
