Leather upholstery was an option.  Windsor probably shipped cars to both LHD and RHD export markets.  Unfortunately, the 1928-29 records don't exist......

I am a member of the WPC Club, but not yet a member of this one. My 29 U is essentially a basket case with all the upper wood rotted out, but there is enough of the upholstery left to indicate the seats were covered in what appears to be quite high quality leather (black), while the door panels are covered in a cloth-backed "plastic" material that mimics leather. The style of the upholstery is correct for the period and I seriosly doubt that anyone reupholstered a Plymouth with leather, so I assume it is original.? This vehicle is Canadian production.

I have attempted to find records that might indicate that leather was an option in '29, but all indications are that it was not. The only opinion that I have had to date that approaches being sensible is that it is an export model that did not get exported. I know export models for Commonwealth countries usually were from Canada because of the internal preferential duties, but all those countries were/are RHD while this is an LHD model.

Can anyone offer any advice at all? Believe me, it will be appreciated.

I am located in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia and would like to know if there are any members with similar vintage Plymouths within, let's say, a day's drive.
