Don't know what part of the country you're in, but I've heard that Canadian platers are less expensive and do a better job because certain plating chemicals that are outlawed in the USA are still legal up there, and the rate of exchange helps out too.

Any manfacturers of commercial racks, appliances, or (believe it or not) supermarket shopping carts need a source for plating.? Try contacting them to see who they use.? Also, Caswell offers do-it-yourself kits. Might be worth the investment.

I have two P-9 trunk hinge half decorative shells (Upper) that need to be chromed to match the lowers. dimensions are 6" x 2" max. In talking to some shops that advertize in Hemmings, they want $125.00 for each piece even though there is only slight pitting in the pot metal that will need attention. They are not to bad and I do not need "show" quality. Does someone know of places that take smaller jobs like that for more reasonable $$.
