Air Filter, again!

Actually better wait till I check it.  It is the correct outter shell, but had a paper filter inside when I bought the car.  I will have to look in the attic and get back to you if the guts are still there.

I often don't do a good job articulating my problems with my '47 and this was no exception. I would like to thank the 2 folks who did respond. When I bought the car two years ago the original oil bath air filter was gone. The previous owner had installed a small (4") chrome air filter for 1bbl carbs. Although the car starts and runs reasonably well, I feel that it may not be getting a sufficient amount of air with this setup. Since it seems close to naught obtaining something close to the original that I could modify as one respondent did, does anyone know where I could find a breather unit that is at least 8" and will fit the original carb. Thanks again.
