1970's carb changing ???

Thanks for the input. Also I was told today that when it gets fixed he wants to sell the car(New Yorker) would anyone of you out there be intrerested in it? Before he puts it up for sale.? Let me know it is in incredible shape. I would love to have it, but have no more inside room for it.

My uncle had a '69 300 that he bought new with a 440 and a Holley carburetor.  Ran terribly from day one.  He had a Carter carb installed and the car started and ran  much better afterwards.  It was a simple conversion and the intake didn't need to be changed.

I did not know that they ever came with Holley carbs. To anwser your question yes it will fit with no problems. You could go buy a new Edlebrock it is made from the Carter AFB design. If you do end up needing to do somethig to the linkage there are all kind of kits for this and they are cheap.

I need some help ??? I have a brother-in-law that has a 1970 chrysler new yorker 4dr ht,with 12,000 miles on the 440, that has a holly 4bl carb on it. he wants to know if he could put on a carter 4bl carb in it's place with out any major changing of the likage. The car never runs with the holly carb and that is what was on it when it came from the factory. any help with this will BE GRATEFULL !!!!!! My 1973 Impirial 440, had the carter carb, and I never had any problems with this car. ??? ??? Or can you send me some whare to get some help with this ????? Thanks.? by the way this is why he never drives the new yorker around it will never start. >:(
