40 Ford Door Latch In 38 Plymouth?

This is a modification question so apologies to the purists.? But does anyone know if 40 Ford door latches will fit a 38 Plymouth?? They sure look the same.? Reason I ask, Bob Drake sells a kit to install an exterior driver-side lock on a 40 Ford - it includes a new latch with the lock mechanism.? I'd like to put one on my 38 Plmouth but, before I shell out $200, I want to be sure the latch will fit.  TIA for any help.
