1940 PT105 Plymouth Pickup

My PT 105 had the serial number on the frame about where u found it on the Dodge.  I was thinking it was on the right but that has been several years ago.  I do recall that I hadn't noticed it until I had wire brushed the area.

I found the frame s/n on the Dodge WC. It is on the left just behind the front spring hanger and the number matches the body number. The Plymouth PT does not have a number there. Maybe in 40 they didn't use a s/n on the frame. Any suggestion on where to look. The PT is hard to get around in the shed. Thanks, Roy

I do believe the trucks had the serial number on the frame -- can't put my finger on it at the moment but know who I need to contact to verify that....

 As far as I know, the frames are the same from 39-47. There are different wheelbases and different weights of truck which I am sure you are aware of.  The vehicle  serial  number is on the door pillar. Some states titled vehicles by engine number. 

There are numbers on the frames but they do not seem to match the other id numbers in any way.  On some passenger cars, the engine number is also stamped on the frame near the left rear wheel.

I have a 40 PT105 pickup and a? 46/47? WC Dodge parts pickup. Are the frames the same? The Plymouth's frame has been shotened in front and has had multiple hitches welded to the rear. Also, did the frames have serial numbers? Thanks,
