Have you found a filter yet? I just purchased a filter assy. at a local u pull it yard, after cleaning the unit and some other help, I found "use P40 refill" on the top handle. It is a Purolater unit that will not take the Fram C134PL, I found the Wix 51021 is a replacement for the P40. Hope this helps.

Something so simple can be so hard sometimes.

1937,
Go to Vintage Power Wagons webpage - www.vintagepowerwagons.com
Click on On-line Parts Catalog
Then, click on 1. Engine
Look at the first page, at #CC677218
This filter element appears to be a little over 5 inches long.
You might want to call or chat with them and see if this is the filter you need for your housing.

This unit is very common and is shown in many 30's engine photo/pic

It did not have a filter inside when i got it.

The crossover P/N 1121694 lead me to Fram C134PL and it didn't come close to fitting, too short, too small.

Anyway please look at the diagram:  I know someone has one attached to there car who views this site. You cannot view this attachment.

Yes, i looked all this up prior to ordering the FRAM C134PL which was listed as a cross over for P/N 1121694

Anyway, I ordered a FRAM C134PL and it was way too short.

Ordered and received the wrong one for this unit.  FRAM-C134PL

Can anyone point me in the right direction for the correct P/N for this canister?

Any help would be greatly appreciated again.
