I have an earlier model Plymouth with a 50 year old lacquer paint job. Since car has been garaged most of that time the paint still looks good except in a couple of small areas. In those areas the paint had cracked and separated from the metal. There are currently no bare spots but chips will undoubtedly blow off when car is driven. I would like to lift the loose separations and glue back to the body. The problem is that I have no idea what kind of glue or process would be my best option.  I assume that a complete paint job will be required in the future but am looking for a temporary fix until that becomes necessary. Any suggestions are appreciated.
