Thanks very much for the info.  I ended up doing it that way.  Unusual!

The flywheel must be removed to get the bell housing off

So I haven't posted before, it looks like this board is a little more active than the last time I looked.  I'm SLOWLY doing a complete restoration of my great-grandfather's '35 PJ Coupe. Done some other restos, but this one is super special because of my history with the car.  Getting things torn apart during this COVID break. But I have a really dumb question.  Is it possible to pull the bellhousing (they call it "clutch cover" in the parts manual) off of the block without pulling the flywheel?  It seems so bizarre that it wouldn't come off, but the dowel pins seem to be holding it in place. The flywheel stops it from coming back far enough to come off of those dowels.  Can someone help the slow kid?  I ended up dropping the gearbox off of the bellhousing, so I can see everything, but there has to be a better way...

Thanks!

Brent
