I don't know how the removal is done on the 54 (it an easy couple of screws on my 1933 and I recall that it was pretty easy on the 1963 Dodge D200 I once had).

I know there are at least two and possibly three automotive instrument repair shops near me listed in the local Yellow pages. If you live in or near a metro area you should have a repair shop fairly close by.

OK so Saturday I replaced my cable for the speedometer only to find out that the wick to keep the speedo oiled was.....DRY.  the whole system was locked up. I do not know if there is anything I can do other than removing the inst.cluster, and trying to soak the speedometer shaft in oil. Are there companies that still make/repair speedometers?
And how does one remove the inst.cluster from a 54 Plymouth?
