To: Billy Mitchell and TodFitch:  Thank you soooo much for responding to my post.  Sorry it took so long to reply but my head is in a million places and also I didn't write this website name down!  I am taking all your advice - except that I really don't know anybody who knows anything about old cars so I'm a team of one! I'm going to do another post with a few pictures of the car hoping someone can give me a ballpark asking price.  As I know so little and I've seen these cars sell for such varied prices, I hope this will give me a place to start.  Thanks again - you guys are the best. :)

Concur with everything that Billy wrote. I would add the AACA forums, either the Plymouth section or the buy/sell section (or both) to your list of places to advertise. https://forums.aaca.org

For what its worth, the serial number you list is, indeed, for a 1929 Plymouth with an engineering code of "U".

The first thing to do is find a family member/friend that has some knowledge about cars and you TRUST and can help you.
Take a whole bunch of pictures (interior, exterior, engine compartment etc.), visual detail and description is everything.
Description and pictures of spare parts if any.
Advertise locally such as Craigslist after you do some research for asking or selling price of similar vehicle.
Never include your address, have them reply to phone number or email (do not reply to someone that says they can help you sell it)
Start you asking price high, you can always come down on price but can never come up.
Always keep in mind that everyone wants a deal, just make sure they don't get a steal.
If you don't get much response try advertising to a wider audience such as Ebay, Hemmings or the Plymouth Bulletin.
Good luck and don't be afraid to ask more questions.

Hi Everyone - Total Uneducated in Cars Person Here! My husband recently passed away and was the proud owner of a 1929 Plymouth 4 door sedan, VIN Y174SY.  Although it went through a non-traditional restoration of sorts prior to his purchase, it appears to be in very good condition with many original features. It has been barn kept since purchase in 1994 and was last driven approximately 20 years ago. As I know NOTHING about vintage cars, I am at a loss for how to sell it.  I looked into the whole Hemmings, Auto Trader, Auto Locator thing and I am just getting more confused.  I even thought about Facebook Marketplace. I really want it to get into the hands of someone who would appreciate it as it has survived so well for so may years.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.  :)
