I have a 29-U and there is a right angle distributor housing.  These have a tendency to go south.  I assume your engine is a stock 4 cyl. 196 which is the same block as my 175.

Just parked my 1931 PA after driving a short distance but when I went to move it and it would not start.  No spark.  Noted that the distributer rotor was not turning. Removed the distributer and the shaft turns freely.  However, the distributer gear in the engine is not rotating when the engine is cranked.  This was a very sudden event.  Any comments or suggestions?
