Hi,
Pertronix is performing in my  P23 - 1951 perfectly.
It was one of 2 best investments- the other beeing the overdrive for Germanys hi speed Autobahns...
My distributor is IAT 4011.
Pertronix made an Ignitor for my untipical specification:
6 V MINUS grounded!
Usually You will find 6 V PLUS grounded.
My unit survives peaks of 9 V (during special electric starting engine procedure) since 11  Years-
I have a spare unit on board!
Greetings from Germany!

Yes, Pertronix does have an electronic conversion that fits your car.
You will have to email them with your distributor make and model number.
i did that some months ago and they stated that there was one to fit my '51 Plymouth.
Of course, that information is not where i can find it at this moment.
But, just email them and they will email back with the correct part number.

Thank you for your response.
Mine is still 6V Pos. but I think the dizzy is not the original.  I'll check out the number and see if I can track down something.
I hear it is worth the effort.

Did you look up the ignitor by distributor number? There should be a metal plate on your dizzy with the model number. The number on mine is IAT-4101. It may take some persistence. FYI: mine is 1954 engine with a 12V alternator  [attachment id=0 msg=19262]  [attachment id=1 msg=19262]  [attachment id=2 msg=19262]

I am interested in converting over to electronic ignition. I have a 51 Cranbrook. I was told that PerTronix does not have one for my car. (standard 218)   Is there another source? Do you think it is worth it?
Thanks
