The clutch just didn't feel right. When I crawled under the car, I found that the torque shaft pivot (transmission side) was kind of flopping around in the shaft. The bearing that goes around the ball is just plain gone plus there was no return spring. I'm wondering if they were ever there in the first place. The car still shifts fine. I have a new bearing and spring on order from Bernbaum. I read a the post from about ten years ago regarding a 41 with clutch linkage problems. It was very helpful, particularly the parts about spacers.

Two questions: Is there anything I should know about this bearing - like is there a lock ring or something to keep it in place? Where does the return spring hook in the front? There is a hole on the fork. As always, thank you all very much.
