Instead, I?m preparing a hidden dashboard to control  my tech gimmiks (12 V harness with second generator and battery, Overdrive, electrical power steering) The latter is still a plan, I have the spare column and gear shift and jacket (for traceless rebuilding back), but I?m still checking problems with the "special licence for original oldtimers". Problem is, that I have to back into my garage, very narrow street to turn, 2 storys steeply down, which stresses my aged right hand to its limits.
Today no rain is expected, so maybe...

Go.. I have been thinking about the comments contained in the above quote for several days... I might be committing an unpardonable sin of suggesting modifications to your car, in any case here goes..
In lieu of over designing a dual electrical system, 6 v/12v why not just convert your electrical to 12v using an alternator.. The wiring won't know which voltage it is getting, so long as your wiring is in good shape.
The accessories, radio, heater and OD can be supplied with 6v by using a solid state voltage reducer.. I just had one built for my '39 Plym to power my NOS radio.. The lights are easy to replace with 12 v units..
To maintain originality, the addition of a 12v charging system and battery should not be a problem.. Many country's, including several in Europe, required 12v systems clear back into the '30's... Look in the 1939  and latter Chrysler/Plymouth parts catalogs... 12v systems are clearly shown..
If you are at loss for a source for a good voltage drop.... Be careful buying one that is not solid state, let me know, I'll have my friend build you one... PM me, I'll send you a pix of the unit I have, it's about four inch's square....

I'm just setting here have a cup of joe, and reminiscing about days gone by. lol  Good to hear from you Bob. I have to agree with Bill, we all maybe have other projects taking us away from this site, even it this is the main site I go too. I am still working on the ole Plymouth, however, also a Mustang Convertible, and Old Crestliner boats, I got three of them now and am just putting a coat of paint on one this Morning.  I spent a month this spring working on the pontoon, I tore it up pretty bad last fall trying to get it out of the lake.  The lake got so low I couldn't get a trailer under it, and s--- happens......  We had a bad Wind storm last week, we have been cleaning up all the downed branches since, it may be a while yet before that is done.  I do need to post a bit about the 39 (a heating problem), but I need to get my thoughts together first. lol   Take care of yourself

I have to admit that I have been a little remiss during the past year or so about making contributions to this forum.. Part of the problem is that my '39 Plym conv is just about done, so there is very little to report about on that project..
Another factor has two sides to it... For some reason or another I can't access the POC Forum from my wireless/satellite internet connection. None of the other forums I am on, Ford Barn, Early Ford V8, HAMB, Classic Oldsmobile, etc., have the same problem...
I can't post a pix to the POC Forum, however, I can post pix directly from my computer to any of the other forums I have listed.
From my observation, it would appear that the POC has for some reason or another failed to attract and/or keep the interest of the mainstream car hobbyist, i.e. guys that like to improve, modify their cars for safety and reliability...
The P15 D24 forum has constant chatter about all kinds of modifications.. This difference is also very true of the Early Ford V8 forum vs the Ford Barn... Enter a topic about modifications to a EFV8 on that site, and you'll get dressed down about it, enter the same topic on the Ford Barn, and with few exceptions you will get a lot of response. The EFV8 Forum is the official forum for the Early F V8 Club of America, where-as the Ford Barn was started by a private party, as spin off of the Club's site, because of the restrictive nature of the Clubs site..
The Classic Olds Forum is also very tolerant of questions, etc., about modifications to cars.... I am currently re-building a '49 Olds 88 which I started a topic about on the Classic Olds Forum.. The topic has been well received by the Olds people... Almost as good as my '39 Plym conv. cpe topic here on the POC..
I don't profess to know the answer to the reason why traffic on the POC has fallen off, I am just pointing out my observations.... Bill

Go,

Good to hear from you, good luck on your projects

Go Fleiter

it is about 10 times slower than the slowest of the other sites I use to look in. Job or hobby.
Nearly all of our old follwers disappeared.
Just half a dozen show up from time to time.
This forum seems to dry out. I just look in once a week, often ther was no traffic at all.
The P15 D24 site is not so nicely organized as this one. I can?t feel at home - it is too confusing.

The Ply didn?t make but a handful of mls since Oct as weather still is rainy unless a few days.

Sitting here with a cup of coffee wondering it all is ok with the three of you as there have been no recent posts by you three.

Hopefully all is ok and that you guys are adding up the miles on your Plymouths this summer.

Just wondering,
Bob
