I think the 10 and 11" clutch plates went into heavy use vehilces such as police cars and taxis and possibly the military staff car order.  My guess is most cars came with the 9 1/4" clutch.

Does anyone know what determined  if a car would receive the  standard clutch ( 866039), the 10 inch clutch (866028), or the 11 inch clutch (695857). I have my build sheet and  and see no mention of a special order for the clutch. I assume the standard clutch was 9 1/4 inch.  My parts book goes up to 1948 and these clutch numbers were the same. How far after 1948 were these three clutches used ? It appears that all three cluches will fit in the same bell housing but have different pressure plates.

Thanks, Mike
