Rear Pinion Seal

Have you checked the little vent on top of the rear axle? It's the little "bolt" that holds the brake line tee. Sometimes those little vents get plugged with dirt and the pressure build up in the axle causes the seals to leak.

What does the flange shaft look like where the seal rides?

If it is rough or scored then it will eat up any seal you put on. There is probably a speedi-sleeve in the correct size to fix it if you have that problem.

I recently changed the rear pinion seal on my 55 Plymouth. After a long ride I noticed it is leaking again. Did I do something wrong when I put the new one in? Or did I get a bad seal?
Has anyone else had this problem?
