Seal to clutch release fork: how to fix??

Glenn, I have a 1951 (see Avatar), but the Idea is ok for it too.
What I got has no tabs.

Go, I take it you are talking about your 39 model? The picture Lew put on here is identical to the one used on my 39 model, I never took any pictures of mine when I had it out, wish I had. Looks like it could be made out of a mild steel about .040 using his measurements, and a seperate ring to sandwich the leather between before riviting..  Good luck

On earlier cars, the leather seal has a metal retainer with tabs that are friction fit or crimped over into the housing hole. Should be the same hopefully for your car.

got a nice seal for the clutch release fork from Bernbaums:
it is leather (was the OEM of rubber?) and has the hole marked for the rivet which goes on the fork.
The frame has to be fixed around the hole where the fork enters the clutch housing.
We couldn?t find any sort of retainer or fixture or even holes for some skrews.

Any hint how to fix seal?s fram to the housing?
