1951 Cranbrook - Under the hood paint

Hi Bill,
It is the windshield washer. You are right, one tube is the vacuum hose and the other one is the water outlet. Under the white lid you see on the picture, there is a glass jar as water reservoir.

Thanks for the photo of your 1951.  I have a question.
What is the device to the left (passenger side) of the radiator,
that looks like it has a vacuum hose going to its top?

If your car was built in Canada, the entire firewall would be body colour.
If your car is a USA model, the top part of the firewall is body colour, the part below the flange down to the toe-board area is grey, like the inner surface of the trunk.

Hi All,
I have restored my 1951 Cranbrook 4 dr sedan and used black paint in the firewall and inner sheetmetal in the engine compartment, as you can see in the picture attached. I could not find any reference about that in judging guidelines of POC. I painted black because it was the color it was before the restoration. Is this correct?
