1939 Headlight Buckets

I believe that I have a pair of the headlight reflector retainer parts.. I have a NOS set of early single screw bezels..

I bought a parts book on Ebay, and that has answered a lot of my questions.  I now know the car is a early Detroit built P8 Coupe.  It requires the headlight bezels with one screw.  I have found lenses, reflectors, bulbs, and bezels for the headlights.  I now need the parts that hold and aim the reflectors.  The car had a sealed beam conversion on it when I got it, and the aiming parts were removed.  I want to thank every one who replied to my post, your answeres have helped me with my project.

I also need the left side door sill step plate.  Can anyone help with these parts?

The '39 Plymouth', P-7 & P-8 both use the same headlight bucket which is mounted within the fender. The buckets will fit left and right, as will the inner reflectors and mounting hardware. The lens is the same for either side, however, the bezel is left and right and there are early and late variations... One screw, two screw..
The '37-38 Mopars had headlight pods that were externally mounted to the side of the grille shell.

You "think" you have a 39 P8 coupe.  Can you post the serial number (right front door post) and I can identify what you have for sure.....

I was offered a 1941 assembly but since I have not found a parts book to buy I don?t know if it will fit.  Do you mind letting me know what you think?

From the '36-'48 parts book:
Part type code 5-31-3 "Brake Pedal and Master Cylinder Bracket Support" is part 681835 for '39, '40 and '41.
Part type code 6-38-1 "Clutch Pedal and bushing ass'y" shows "No Longer Supplied" for '39 but part 854520 for '40 and '41.

My take away is that they are similar between '39 and the '40 and '41 models but not identical. I haven't personally seen any of them so I can't say how different they might be.

I have a what I think is a 1939 business coope P8.  The 2 headlight buckets are the same and seem to be for the right hand side.  Does anyone know if they are left and right, if they are I need a left one.  I am trying to get a parts manual but don't have it yet.   Tony

I think you are referring to the "Head Lamp Body or Shell Ass'y", part type code 8-34-33 in the '36-'48 parts manual. If so, then P7 and P8 both use part 698739 for both left and right sides.

Thank you for replying.   Maybe something is bent ? Both will fit fine in the right side (one easier than the other) but not in the left
