1941 Interior Trim Codes

Not sure what you mean by "special order # 5" - can you clarify???  It might have been an option package.  If I know more I may be able to find it in my Ross Roy data book....

From the Build Sheet on the Service Car Record there is a category heading called "Special Order No.", and for my car it simply has a "5" in the box.
This part of the data sheet also lists heading categories of
"Shipping Order No."
"Boat Drive Rail"
"Destination - City And State"
"Dealer"
"Remarks"

I'm guessing then that Plymouth did not offer sample books of their interior materials like Cadillac and other makers did.  For my 1940 Cadillac LaSalle I have a copy from a friend who has the actual Interior samples from 1940 that would have been sent to dealerships for their salesmen to show customers and such..
And if Plymouth did have a such a sample book I would think some member would have them.

A big stretch but I would also like to know what "Special Order #5" would have meant on a 1941 Plymouth.

Unfortunately not - if Plymouth (Chrysler Corp) had any such information, its long been lost.  I visited with a long-time auto upholsterer in Colorado Springs this summer.  This gentleman had been in business for something like since 1957 -- He did have books going back to the 1960s -- known as the "Detroit" books.  These books showed upholstery samples along with code numbers, etc.  How far back these books go is anybody's guess - and probably the only one that would have them is a professional upholsterer.  If you live in a metropolitan area that had this type of upholstery service available, check with them.  If anyone has "really" old books - say back to the 30s or 40s, that would be a gold mine!

Does anyone have a list of Trim Codes and what they decode out to for 1941?  What Interior color(s) materials etc..??
