Hooking up 30 Amp Circuit Breaker

Thanks Plym 46, but my real question is which of the 2 Terminals On the 30 Amp Circuit Breaker is the In side, or should be hooked up to the Battery?  of the 2 that I have, both have a Short and Long threaded post, but since none of the posts are labeled, I don't know which way the power runs.  Or maybe it doesn't make any difference?   ::)    That's what I need to know.   :o

I just grabbed the wiring schematic for my Studebaker Pickup as it was handy and pretty typical of the wiring of the period.

From the Battery side of the starter solenoid a 10 gauge wire run to the circuit breaker in terminal.  The out terminal powers the Batt terminal on the ignition switch.  Another wire powers an indepedently switched map light on the dashboard.  A third wire, and this is not typicle for MOPARS but a good idea none the less, powers the brake light switch.

I say this is a good idea, as I have found that by powering my brake lights independently of the rest of the lights on my car that they are brighter, and do not cause the headlamps to dim when the brakes are applied.  I power my brake light switch from a direct line to the bat side of the solenoid through a 20 Amp inline fuse.

But The 30 Amp circuit breaker is self reseting and by being between the bat and the ignition switch protects all the circuits that run off the switch, the 30 amp fuse on the headlamp switch protects all the lighting circuits powered through the switch.

I do reccomend the idependent powering of the brake lights.

Hi Friends, as I'm installing a new wiring harness in my '54 Belvedere, I'm not sure which way to attach the wires to the 30 Amp circuit breaker.  One of the terminals is longer than the other, so I'm guessing that the Short Terminal is connected to the Pos Battery and the Long Terminal is the one that the Accessories, Lights, etc. are attached.  The wiring diagram is clear about everything else.  Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.
