Windshield for 1954 Belvedere Convertible Coupe

Thanks Gaby51. Yes I did see this one. In fact we have been able to locate another supplier who has a tinted glass for $425. We are just working out the logistics for transportation to India, which should cost an additional $600 :(. Yes it does work out expensive considering the customs duty of 30% in India, but I have no choice.

In fact my car was bought by the previous owner in 2003, its windshield removed and fixed to another similar car, which currently is in a museum, as it has a historical back ground of being a State Car.

Hi,

I am currently restoring a 1954 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible Coupe in India. This is a P-25. I am in need of a windshield, as the same is missing in my car. This car was registered in March, 1954 so I would guess that this was manufactured in Canada in 1953. Finding a windshield in India is almost impossible. Any help finding one would be much appreciated. The same has to be shipped to India.

Just some history from India

Premier Automobiles successfully negotiated with Chrysler Corp. in 1939 for production of Plymouth Cars and Dodge trucks sold under the Plymouth, Dodge, Desoto and Forgo names starting in 1949. Mainly Dodge was sold with the Kingsway badging, DeSoto under the Diplomat/Deluxe Custom badging and Plymouth under Savoy/Belvedere badge. All cars were right hand drive and production was done till 1958.59. The Convertibles were imported only in 1954 for one year and hence were left hand drives. All convertibles were basically Plymouth Belvedere sold under Dodge, Desoto and Plymouth Badge respectively.
