11939 Plymouth.

Hi Glenn,
My car is a coupe r / s. This is the difference. For the rest our cars are equal.
Before I import the car in Italy I did redo the new upholstery where I had bought (connecticut), I did redo the whole system of new brakes and new wheels i with a white wall.
Now the car is completely disassembled. The body has spread to my garage and already starting to come back as new. The chassis is expected next week after a good cleaning and preparation for installation.
The engine is to my mechanic that will begin to restore it. (it is running and in good conditions)
The car needs to be put back into shape, but ran well.
Today I took the glass, two of the windscreen, the two doors, two small doors and two rear. They were made exactly like the originals. They were not expensive and not cheap. All Euro 350.00.
I have already bought the rubber side steps and the bottom completely rebuilt. Now everything seems easy, just a problem like the dashboard painted wood and the radio must go ..
The chrome is ready. Of course all the complete parts have been treated by me, I found the company that did the work and I tried to send a fair amount.

Thanks Seb, Seems we both have like interests in cars. Your 39 and mine look very simular, could be twins. lol I would be very interested in your car rebuilding, please keep us all involved with your project. Love those old Plymouths.......
I don't think I am going to do a frame off restore, seems to solid for that so far, I will know more as I get into it, more.... I did get my windshields and one door glass back today, cost was very reasonable, under $100.00 for all three. I'm happy.

Compliment ! Now you have a 1929 and a 1939.. just like me..
Please use for a while and you don't leave it more...
I'm restoring my.
It is out fron frame and the engine in good condition.
If you want I can show you some work.
It appear (the model) as a very good solid car.
For the glass I'm removing all, I will place new.

Thanks Jim, The interior is kinda growing on me, it will take a bit of cleaning up. I will keep it for a spell, the paint also, think I will just compound it and see how that looks. The carb kit and the rubber and stuff for the glass hasn't come yet, or the fender welting, but maybe by this weekend. You could do me an e-mail on a set of tires, the wide white walls if you get time. I'm not ready for them today, but maybe by summer. They must be Radials, w/w/w, 6.70 x 15. I would like a 1949 model, not to interested in the later models though.

Hi Glenn - I'll bet someone paid a lot of bucks to have that interior done up like that. Looks to be in good shape from the photo. Let's see - you have a '29 and now a '39. Is a '49 next - then a '59, etc??????

Tod, Thanks a bunch. You answered all my questions and then some. Really appreciate the help. Bob, I wasn't referring to not keeping the car, lol, was talking about getting rid of the upholstery. The car is in too good of shape to junk out, I got the windshields out and one door window, a fellow in town here is going to cut me glass on Monday. Tomorrow I will get the carberator off and clean it, then we will see if it will run. Got the gas tank cleaned already, wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Thanks for the comments guys.

Looks like a good find. Keep us posted on your progress. I think maybe once you get it running and in driveable condition, you might change you mind and keep it.

I don't have ready references for 1939, but typically the standard or Roadking versions used the same engines as the DeLuxe versions so I am not surprised to see a P8 engine in a P7.

Regarding body style, Plymouth would have called it a "two door sedan". If it had the trunk, it would be called a "two door touring sedan".

I need a bit of info on this one. Hope you guys got it... I got this 39 Plymouth, off e-bay, over by Milwaukee Wis last weeek.
The car seems pretty solid so far, no rust or major dings. It has been in storage for the last 30+ years and has not been run since. The title is listed the engine number as the serial number, P8 58062, does this make it a P8 model? the serial number on the door pillar is listed as 1313000, does that make it a P7? It has the Floor shifter, and considered the "trunkless" model, or maybe a "Roadking" model. (I have been looking through old POC Books and articles from "Benjy" pages.) I read that leather was an option for this model.... But really, Black leatherete... They did a good job on the upholstery job anyhow, don't think I will keep it though, maybe for a while. Hope the engine is OK, keeping my fingers crossed. I hope to do only the mechanical things this winter...
