Interesting. For whatever it's worth, my original '36 P2 also has the 11 bright ones on each side and 9 painted ones.

Ok this is a question that has been stumping my dad and I. He has an original 36 Plymouth convertible coupe that has been put up from 1951-1980 when he got it. it has 14 stainless bars on each side of the grill, and 9 black bars where the emblem gos. TOTAL OF 37 BARS.

My dad saw a 36 Plymouth convertible coupe in Owensboro, K.Y. owned by Alan Floyd and that one had 14 bars on each side and 9 in center. There is another convertible in Greensboro, N.C. close to where we live and it has 11 instead of 14 on each side but still has 9 where the emblem gos.TOTAL OF 31. However I think that the one in Greenboro is a reproduction grill.

Then about 3 weeks ago in Concord N.C. at the race track swap meet we saw an original 36 Plymouth COUPE that had been in a barn near Roanoke, V.A. since about 1950 or so. It too had 11 bars, not 14 and still 9 in the center for the emblem. However it looked to be all original.

So my question: Did the Convertible have more bars than the hardtop models?

Attached is a pic of my dads'. and the other is the coupe at the swap meet.
