Robert KB of Lethbridge, Alberta , pulled a rear right drum off his 48 CDN Plymouth parts car (!! without any problem !!) for me and let it to me for a very friendly price.

Thanks again, Robert!

After having driven 2 years with loose rear axle nuts, after having tried
to pull the rear drums with truck grade equipment last year, after trying everyone of the valuable hints from this forum, -Thank You all! -  last Wednesday we finally could pull the old drums off.

It still couldn?t have done without  cutting the rivets off the drum, taking off the drum (with some distortion) leaving the hub exposed.

Than we cut a sector off the hub to get good access to the inner cylinder of the hub.
That cylinder than got a good axial cut which was sufficient to spread it by chisel a bit and finally to get it pulled off the axle - still by brute force of the puller.

Rebuilding was easy, new brake cylinders and shoes plus linings from Bernbaum?s were on hand. The car passed the obligatory safety check ("T?V") with no problems.

Robert?s  canadian drum has radial grooves (heat sinks?) , which mine didn?t have. Anyhow, it was fitting perfectly - the  one I was looking for 2 Years - the right side version.
Left side, I have two.

Having beautiful autumn weather here, I enjojed the ride home very much - 24 mls across beautiful hills.
