I tried a lot of different options and settled on 1 Shot lettering enamel #104-L Bright Red. I found it was the most similar to the paint on several NOS parts I had for comparison. It was difficult to find a red that was not too orange or too blue. I am very happy with the results and the paint went on very smoothly with a brush.

You can see examples of it on my car in the photo below.

I use Chrysler red engine paint from the 60's...not sure if it is right but compared to a few odd bits of paint left on after all these years..suits me fine..

I can't help you with the correct shade of red, but I used nail polish a bright shade of red, it has held up well for ten years or so, could use it again, but not in a hurry to do so.  You need a good steady hand with no distractions

On my 41 there are lots of Red Color painted on different chrome parts. Question is what is the correct Red Color?

Thanks
