We realize that most of the events planned are on the West Coast. If anyone  has an idea for an event on the East Coast, please let us know of it and we will be glad to organize it. You can also contact our zone 5 rep. He is in on the South East coast. His name is Dick Koch and he can be reached at: .

I'm convinced... ;D  maybe those closer to the hub now will see the reasoning and volunteer..I do not even have a generic club in/about my area...only a couple special interest folks...

We have tried to incorporate a zone approach with zone leaders, however participation has been concentrated to the center of the state.  We've had meetings in the Big bend region, Central Florida, and the Nature coast and traveled to meets in Davie, Ocala, Mt. Dora and Old Town to name a few.  The last few meetings have been in Inverness or New Port Richey, at the homes of the members that volunteer.  Coincidentally, this is where the bulk of the paid membership is.  Participation is hard to come by and would be non-existent if we told the dozen members in the area that they all need to drive across the state to go to a meeting.  Clubs do not cater to an individual, its about a group of people interested in a common theme.  That said, the live blood of the club is dedicated individuals interested in keeping the club going.   Keep in mind it is not mandatory to drive your Plymouth to a meeting.   I drive a 41 Plymouth and I won't drive over 55 because it will not go any faster.  That doesn't keep me from driving my modern car 100 miles to go to a meeting.  Likewise, it hasn't stopped me from driving the 41 100 miles to go to a show.  If someone else would like to volunteer to organize the next meeting, I welcome the help.  That person is welcome to pick the location and Mike or myself would be happy to assist in running a meeting.  We would love to have more participation from the other zones.  Until then, I look forward to meeting you for pancakes in Hudson at 2pm August 8th.  Cheers!

Is there a reason for the quote without a comment...or was it omitted somehow..technically I see the man's point that the regional headquaters seems to stay "local" and not branch out to meet in the outer fringes of the so called region they claim to serve.  In other words, you drive to us, we do not try to meet you half way...IF the regionial were to be a bit more flexible in this aspect there would/could be an increase in club participation.  To be outside of the hubs where 250 miles to any meeting/venture is beyond reasonable to average person..fix it to where eveyone drives an equal distance..share the burden so to speak..there is a possibility of increased menbership and membership equals revenue..chances of hosting an even larger scale event...so on and so forth..

If you want to get new members, try haveing meets or cruise nights on the Treasure Coast. I own a 55 Plymouth with a 6cyl. 3 speed. I will not drive it over 50 mph. because of the gear ratios. I have no plans to blow the motor. Since the speed limit in Florida is 70 on I 95 and the turnpike, I cannot take the car on those roads. Why create an accident for going too slow .

Hi all, I'm starting this tread to post all Florida Region related activities, events, meets and meetings.  This and the Florida region website will be the official place to post our events on the web.  By keeping the title generic we can post upcoming events here and to see a history of things we've done will be as easy as reading through the post.

With that out of the way, I'd like to announce that we will be having a year end meeting this Saturday at 2pm, November 22.  The meeting will be held in the New Port Richey/Hudson area (just north of Tampa on the gulf coast) at a location to be determined based on turnout.  We know this is really short notice, but time has snuck  up on us and we really want to have a meeting before Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays.  On the table for discussion is where to go for our meet/event for January, board members, and other club activities.   It will be the perfect time for everyone to purchase a club t-shirt and have your voice heard.  Hope to see you all this weekend.  Thanks!
