I agree with you all. Those are some very hard pieces to find.
Ihave heard of, and have seen several techniques of home grown reproductions.
Some were quite nice others, well, maybe not so nice. The best ones I found were constructed from a flower pot!

Currently, I have an original set/pair in stock. One is darn near perfect, but the lenght of the four mounting "tabs/studs" are a bit short, probably had to do with when the speed nuts were removed from the sill, but still can be mounted. The other one is also very, very nice and sports three of the four tabs in full lenght. There is a bit of browning, and light "flea bites" from sun damage along the one edge, but, this could be mounted towards the botton, and not be noticed as much. This pair is marked at $150.00.
Any interests? Please email me.

I have been looking for many years now with no luck. I would make some reproductions if I could find one good one to make a mold from. If I could get the measurements it would not be that hard to make a plug. Any one willing to help out with a good close up photo and the measurements? As a long shot I am going to try and get a hold of Jay Leno and see if he would be willing to scan and print one with his fancy prototype printer, he has a 41 in his collection.  Not sure how to get get his attention but its worth a shot.

Thanks
