Tuesday 7th : Leutasch roundtrip, 123 mls,
A bautiful trip along lake Achensee and lake Sylvenstein. The latter is a reservoir, the foto with the pre-war Alfa (one of four existing) is exactly on the dam.

Next stop:  Mittenwald (our mountain infantry fighting with US in Afghanistan is based here). Oh yes, we cross german/ austrian border several times a day on these trips - no customs anymore in European Union.

On the lawn, a typical May Tree, in the bavarian state colours white and blue. .

We proceeded to the Leutasch high valley, and at its ridge down to the deep river Inn valley we paused at Ropfer Alm, a marvellous sight point. see:

Thursday 9th: W?rgl
I try to visit Model Railroad Hobby shops while travelling: sometimes they offer special Models of  local heritage. A very nice and experienced couple is running the well assorted shop in the background and I visited them 2 times before. The Lady even remembered my name after 2 years!! This time, I took a couple of freight cars. He came out to admire the Plymouth and couldn?t that believe we came from D?sseldorf by its own power.

Friday, 10th: Maurach tech. Museum

a very large collection of tractors and farming equipment, an old ship engine, one cog railway locomotive cut open, Police museum .....

The ride home from  Lake Achensee to D?sseldorf with 5 cylinders only  was 450 mls of Autobahn again without any problems, Ply made 1/2 alps, Spessart, Taunus, Westerwald and  Siebengebirge mountain ranges on Autobahn with ease and 75 mph - throttle 3/4 open.
  We had 1150 mls in  all, among them 250 cruising in the Austrian Alps.
Car is repaired now!

 I needed a reminder from Bob to sit me down and finish the last few paragraphs of this report. Too much to work, plus 2 days off for engine repair with my mechanic.

From June 2nd to 11th we had holidays. We drove to Austria via Autobahn, the weather not being as nice as to enjoy country roads.

We stayed at F?rstenhaus Hotel, Pertisau on Lake Achensee.
I choose the Hotels with good garages... my wife wants nice wellness resort , we
both want good  cooking quality and cruising german and austrian alps

Friday, 3rd: "Rolling Oldies" and Rock and Roll Festival at Reith, Tirol, Austria:

With some 30 other old cars we had a beautiful day with a trip high in the mountains. With 4 weighty passengers in the Ply, I had to pause 10 minutes due to little overheating. Car didn?t perform as usual. While flat,  it held easily its max speed (75 mph), but in the mountains it lacked power in lower rpm.

The city of the Oldies lineup foto is Rattenberg, River Inn Valley, a very old trading town.

Saturday, 4th: I rode again to Reith to hear some music and meet my Munich friend Ali and his wife again. They have an outstanding 59 Chevy Convertible, blue metallic. I was impressed by a Lady I met a week before 450 mls more north at Kaunitz. See Text on foto, hope it works!

Sunday 5th:
I checked ignition etc: seemed to run on 5 cylinders only (no difference when taking # 5 spark cable off). I (and the fellow Ply Bul site friends) suspected some valve problems.  Couldn?t solve it there, so I drove carefully the remaining holiday week.

Monday, 6th : Innsbruck roundtrip , 70 mls ,
capital of austrian  Bundesland (=state) of Tirol,
City of the Olympic Winter games 1964 and 1976
Premier reason: looking this medioeval city and  - shopping...

On the way back to Achensee we stopped at this incredible church "Karlskirche" at Volders, the abbey (left building) now is partially a school
